Dear Client

As we embark on this coaching partnership I hope you will find our work together to be Powerful and Rewarding. In order to support our successes I believe there is tremendous value in you understanding ‘my presence’ as your coach. To this end I would offer the following as an outline of my commitment to you and your goals:

  • I am your coach, your thinking partner, and your business partner. We will focus on your most critical goals and objectives and those of your department and organization. I am passionate about accountability and execution. I will be accountable to you however you must also be accountable to me and, most important, to yourself. YOU are responsible for taking the actions necessary to succeed. It is my hope that you ‘enjoy’ our coaching time together however our primary goal will always be to focus on your individual and team goals and the bottom line results of your organization.
  • I communicate. I will listen with intent and I will reflect. I will also ask you lots of questions. Please understand that some of these questions may be difficult ones however remember that my only motivation is your success. There will also be occasions when I will ‘think out loud’. For example, I may hear something that I think is a challenge, holdback, or contradiction. I will speak to my thoughts and ask that we clarify. Please do not be offended by my direct style of communication and feedback. It is so critically important that we understand each other.
  • I am very focused on goals. We will look at long-term goals. We will look at your organization’s goals. We will set specific goals for each of our meetings and I too will have goals that I will be expecting to achieve. Coaching will take effort however the results will be reflected.
  • You will quickly notice a pattern or system that we will follow during our coaching sessions. I am a firm believer that successful outcomes are as a result of an effective plan, action(s), clear measurables, and accountability. Our coaching processes will always include these components.
  • Feedback is a gift. We grow as a result of the understanding and acknowledgment of the things we are doing well as well as the things we can do even better. Feedback to each other will be a critical component of our partnership.
  • From our coaching proposal you will notice that we provide both individual and team coaching. We also work with organizations to understand the value of a coaching culture and can support in making this a realization. You will also notice that we do not make coaching commitments with clients for a period of less than 6 months. As highlighted, our goal is to impact the success and bottom line results of your organization. This will require effort and an incredible commitment and it will take time.

In summary there may be times when you will, or want to, refer to me as a ‘hard nosed coaching partner’ however you will also clearly understand that I will always be working with understanding and compassion for your challenges as we work together towards growing to a new level.
